BY MISS C.B.I.S. (COWICHAN BRAIN INJURY SOCIETY)
Let’s be honest… people like us don’t get the credit we deserve…
What I mean is that we (people with brain injuries) have to overcome a lot more than normal people do! And to be frank, I’m over the whole “poor you” vibe. Embrace the boss girl/guy! God gave you this life not because he pitied you but because he said, “YO! That chick looks strong enough to walk through fire and come out the other side a fighter”.
So the next time you are thinking something negative about your BEAUTIFUL brain injury, SPOT it, STOP it and SWAP it because we are strong enough to walk through fire and come through as fighters!

So inspirational

Wow! Just a big wow! Great writing, great information, great attitude! Wish a lot more of us had this attitude in life about our own lives! Be very proud Marika! I know your parents are, I would be if my child spoke this well!

Thank you! As a 57 year old teacher, who earned a Masters Degree, I needed to be reminded of this. Reminded that doctors suggested, to my mother, to put me away, because I’d never be able to read or write. It wasn’t always easy, but with God, I really did get through the flames!
